We’re thrilled to join shelters and rescue groups across the state for California Adopt-a-Pet Day! Along with more than 150 other organizations, we’re offering a day of free pet adoptions to celebrate the special bond between pets and people.
California Adopt-a-Pet Day is more than an annual event; it celebrates the beautiful bond between humans and animals. It’s a day where the possibility of countless moments of laughter and love converge, waiting eagerly for you to be a part of them. This annual event is hosted by CalAnimals, SF SPCA, and the ASPCA.

- Due to Joybound’s Unleash Happiness 2025 event this same evening, our adoption hours will be adjusted to 10 am – 4 pm.
- Adoptions are done first-come, first served.
- We cannot guarantee the availability of particular animals, and we do not place animals on hold. Our available dog and cat listings are updated daily.

What is Included?
All animals are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped, de-wormed, and given flea/tick preventative. Animals are sent home with a welcome home supply of Purina food. Dogs 6 months and older are tested for heartworm, and all dogs are started on heartworm preventative. Puppy adopters are offered a discount on puppy social classes. All cats are tested for FeLV (feline leukemia virus), and all cats older than 6 months are tested for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus).
